Job Summary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Real Estate Closing Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing real estate transactions from term sheet to closing, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and protecting the interests of our company throughout the process.

Job Details

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Document Preparation and Review: Draft, review, and manage real estate documents, including leases, purchase agreements, loan documents, and closing binders. Assist in the preparation of mortgage and loan documents for real estate transactions.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence investigations, including title searches, surveys, and environmental reports. Review and summarize due diligence documents and reports.
  • Transaction Coordination: Coordinate and manage real estate closings, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate. Liaise with borrowers, attorneys, lenders, title companies, and other parties to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Legal Research: Perform legal research on real estate laws, regulations, and best practices. Stay updated on changes in real estate finance law and regulations.
  • Compliance: Ensure all real estate transactions comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Assist with the preparation and filing of necessary compliance documents.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain organized files and records of real estate transactions. Assist attorneys with various administrative tasks as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of real estate finance and related legal documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and legal document management.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software

Education and Experience:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law
  • 1-2 years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on closing transactions preferred.
  • Strong understanding of real estate regulations and practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
